IYENGAR INSPIRED YOGA
Liz’s yoga experience is based upon the wisdom, teachings and philosophies of BKS Iyengar. Iyengar yoga focuses on teaching poses using props to help align the bones and muscles to be symmetrical. While embracing his principles, Liz has created her own unique, compassionate and healing yoga style perfect for the beginners. Her classes cater to the individual, rather than a one style for all approach. This style of yoga is great for post Mt. Rinjani trekkers.
We use the following props: mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks, belts, chairs and ropes.
The Iyengar rope wall helps students go deeper into the poses.
Iyengar classes follow a regular pattern and rhythm, with a different focus each week of the month:
|First week of the month||Standing poses|
|Second week of each month||Forward Bends|
|Third week of each month||Back bends and Inversions|
|Final week of each month||Restorative|
Vinyasa classes uses poses which flow from one to another developing strength, stamina and flexibility, while also calming the mind.
This is a fun and active class.
Samadhi means “oneness” or “enlightenment.”
Jeanie developed this class to encourage students to explore their own connection to themselves and the world around them through the eight limbs limbs of yoga. The wave of a this concept-based class is created through cycles of effective sequences focusing on asana (physical postures) pranayama ( breathing techniques ) pratiahara ( withdrawing the senses – concentration ) and meditation to manifest yogic philosophy into our mind/bodies/spirits.
This is a meditative movement yoga that integrates the above techniques to cultivate intuition and vital energy. Classes offer a means to explore the fullness of one’s self by peeling away the layers within to reveal your true sense of self.
