IYENGAR INSPIRED YOGA
Yoga is the union of body with the mind and of mind with soul.
Iyengar Inspired Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment. The sequences in which asanas are practiced is considered important in achieving the desired result. Liz modifies her teaching strategies according to her student’s abilities for each class – challenging advanced students, while simplifying asanas for beginners. She does this seamlessly through the use of props, to assist all people to be able to access the profound benefits of yoga.
Iyengar classes follow a regular pattern and rhythm, with a different focus each week of the month:
First week of the month: Standing poses
Second week of each month: Forward Bends
Third week of each month: Back bends and Inversions
Final week of each month: Restorative

Liz Long
Liz’s yoga experience is based upon the wisdom, teaching’s and philosophy of BKS Iyengar. While embracing his principles, Liz has created her own teaching approach. She is attentive to her students throughout class, demonstrating the correct technique for each asana giving clear, precise instructions. By protecting and guiding her students using yoga props, she assists each student to work to their own abilities. As a result her classes cater to the individual, rather than a “one style for all” approach.
With over 15 years experience teaching children in Australian schools and 5 years teaching yoga, Liz has a wealth of teaching skills to bring forth the best potential from her students. She is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Drawing on her own life experiences Liz is an extremely capable teacher who is also thorough, patient and compassionate.
A self-confessed gypsy, Liz has always followed her own path, embarking on a journey that led her off the beaten track to this special island paradise. After falling in love with the simplicity of Lombok, and the island’s people, Liz settled here to create a unique place where others will also be inspired to explore the simple pleasure of un-doing. Her goal is to guide and inspire others to follow their heart and create their own dream.
